Gimme 5

So today was my "REST DAY" but I spend an hour with my trainer, "JILL!" So I am not sure if that qualifies as a day off??? Jill has this talent for making my butt hurt!!!
I have found a new location to run. It is only one mile from my house, I have rode my bike around this lake many, many times but have never ran it before. I really enjoy Zorinsky Lake! It is way more motivational to run there with all the other runners than in my neighborhood!
Speaking of motivation, We had our first Team In Training class! They spent an hour talking to us about the fundraising part of this journey. They told us of things that other team members have done in the past that were successful in raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I learned something that shocked me.
Did you know that next year in 2010. cancer will be the number ONE cause of death in the human race, according to CNN? Not violence, not war, CANCER!
That was an important moment for me. I have been questioning this decision of mine to run a marathon?? It just sounded to crazy last week! But now I have realized that if all my friends and family are willing to donate to this cause and I can raise the $3,700 needed (thanks to my friends Anne and Katie I am $75 down) then I can definitely do the work and cross the finish line! So with that said I would like to start today to Challenge everyone that reads this to give me 5!
1. Gimme 5 minutes of your time-Check out our website and read about what we have committed ourselves to do. www.letsfindacure.com
2. Gimme $5 bucks - just donate online: Five dollars for a great cause- and if you want to donate more fantastic! just to go http://pages.teamintraining.org/ne/wdw10/jshulenber
3. Gimme 5 friends-send this to five friends to help spread to work! Advocate for me! Personally ask your friends to donate to a great cause for a great friend! Just send them my blog address http://janetrunsamarathon.blogspot.com/
4. Gimme 5 minutes of your time. Every 5 minutes, someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer-money for research is desperately needed-so donate now.
5. Gimme 5 hours to complete the marathon! (Okay-maybe slightly unrealistic but I'll try to get it as close as I can to that!)

Thank you in advance for your donation and for helping me spread the word....

135 days to go!
